L.A. Group Classes

Bringing the Coucou experience to California has always been a dream of ours and we finally went bicoastal in Fall 2017! First Coucou hire and recent L.A. transplant Margaux is running operations out of our Downtown L.A. office, along with a team of great teachers.

We are currently based out of WeWork’s beautiful coworking space in the Fine Arts Building – a perfect setting for our French classes with full amenities available to our students – and we look forward to increasing our presence in the near future to various other WeWork locations throughout the city.

Which class is right for you?

Niveau 1
Débutant

You have never taken French before, or you have, long ago, but you don’t remember much of it. Get started and sign up for our beginner level class!

Niveau 2
Grand Débutant

You know how do introduce yourself, build a basic sentence in French, and conjugate regular verbs in the present. Keep going, you’re on the right track!

Niveau 3
Apprenti

You can hold your own in basic conversation, and explain what you did yesterday or last year, using the right tense. You are ready to take your French further.

Niveau 4
Intermédiaire

You have accumulated a certain amount of vocabulary and you’re starting to have a full grasp on the spectrum of French tenses. Your efforts are really starting to pay off.

Niveau 5
Confirmé

You feel fairly confident using all major tenses. You have the grammatical framework necessary to talk about a variety of topics, but you still make some mistakes. You need to tighten up the loose ends.

Spécialiste

At this point, you mostly need conversation practice and to polish up your already extensive grammar skills. Your French is solid, you want to keep expanding your vocab and improving the fluidity of your speech.

Your French is impressive, you probably spent some time in France or studied it for a long time. You want to maintain your conversation skills, learn more about French culture and meet fellow francophiles.

Our Space

We chose co-working giant WeWork for their beautiful, conveniently-located workspaces which are the perfect place for us to introduce Angelenos to the Coucou experience.

We’ll be based out of their Fine Arts Building location in Downtown LA, but will soon offer additional classes in Pasadena and Santa Monica. Beautiful design, comfy lounge areas, networking opportunities, free drinks and snacks – what’s not to love!
