Cynthia was born and raised in Île-de-France, in the suburbs of Paris. After studying radio journalism, she became PR for a Parisian record label. She moved to LA in 2014 where she met Margaux, owner of Coucou LA, and decided to join the school then. Cynthia enjoys playing ping- pong and pool, singing karaoke, buying groceries at the market and unwinding with a good book.

Location

Explore the differences between French and American working culture, and find out what Dix pour cent and Emily in Paris got right. From business French to common anglicisms, you’ll discover a new side to French culture and nail your next client meeting or job interview.

Teachers will select content and materials based on their expertise and preferences while also consulting with students to align with their expectations. Conversation classes are designed to foster a dynamic exchange of ideas. Guided by the teacher, students are encouraged to share their thoughts and experiences. The goal is to create a relaxed and engaging atmosphere—the classes are not intended to feel like a lecture or formal academic lesson.

Here are some topics that might be covered in this module. They can be adjusted based on the interests of both the teacher and the students.

  • le monde du travail en France – scènes de films et de séries
  • les différences culturelles entre la France et les US
  • Business French, jargon et anglicismes au travail
  • comment rédiger un CV et une lettre de motivation
  • passer un entretien d’embauche

This class will be taught exclusively in French.

You're Expert, if...

You only need an occasional review of advanced grammatical topics, and you mostly want to improve your conversation skills.

You’d like to work on your French slang and learn to master idiomatic expressions so you can truly sound like a native.

You would love to meet like-minded francophiles and learn more about French culture.

You can take this class repeatedly to keep your French alive and acquire new vocabulary: no one is ever “done” learning a language!
