Signature Classes are our structured 10-week courses. They introduce the grammar, vocabulary, and tools for each level of the Coucou Method™.

Conversation Labs are guided speaking practice built around what you’re learning in Signature Class. They don’t introduce new grammar. Instead, you use it through conversation, cultural topics, role-play, games, debates, and other speaking activities.

Labs are flexible to schedule, but they’re designed for regular practice. Most students take 5–10 during or between Signature Class levels.

Signature Classes teach you how French works. Conversation Labs help you get comfortable using it.

Signature Classes have limited spots so we can keep groups small and give everyone a great learning experience. Once a class is full, we're not able to add additional students.

If you're waiting for a spot in a particular class, Conversation Labs are a great way to keep practicing your French in the meantime.

Yes! You can join a class after it has started. Once you register, you'll have access to all upcoming sessions and receive the class materials.

For Signature Classes, you'll also have access to make-up recordings in your Student Portal to help you catch up on any missed lessons.

We know plans change! Here’s what happens if you need to cancel or transfer your Signature Class:

30+ days before class starts: Choose a full refund or request a transfer to a new Signature Class.

15–29 days before class starts: Receive full store credit to book a new class. Refunds and transfers aren't available.

Less than 15 days before class starts, or after the class has begun: Your registration is final, and we're unable to offer a refund, store credit, or transfer.

Pas de panique! You can catch up with a recorded lesson in your Student Portal. Recordings are available for 30 days after your course ends, so you'll have plenty of time to review and get back into the swing of things.

Yes! When you enroll in a Signature Class, a digital copy of the required course book and exercise book is included. Each class page explains exactly what's included before you sign up.

Physical copies are available for purchase in our online store and at our NYC location.

Without a package, Labs are booked in groups of three or more — pick at least 3 and check out in one go. Labs build on each other, so a single one on its own won't get you far; most students do 5–10 between Signature levels.

With a Lab Package, you get credits instead. Buy a package of 5, 10, or 25 Labs, then book one Lab at a time as your schedule allows. Your credits are applied automatically at checkout.

Either way, you can mix dates, teachers, and levels however you like — online or in NYC. You can view your enrolled Labs under Purchase History in your student portal.

Labs are where you take what you've learned and actually use it.

New to Coucou? Start with our placement test. If it places you into a Level 2 Signature Class, begin with Level 1 Labs. It's the best way to build confidence with what you already know before tackling new material.

Already completed a Signature Class? Do Labs at that same level. For example, if you just finished Level 2, take Level 2 Labs to solidify what you learned before moving on to Level 3.

From the date you buy them: 10 weeks for a 5-Lab package, 20 weeks for 10 Labs, 50 weeks for 25 Labs. Unused credits expire at the end of that window.

No. If you’re adding Labs individually, once your cart reaches 5, 10, or 25 Labs, we’ll automatically apply the matching package price at checkout.

You can also buy a Lab package upfront and use your credits one at a time.

Conversation gets easier with repetition, so if you’re booking without Lab credits, we ask you to choose at least 3 Labs. Most students take 5–10 Labs between Signature levels to keep practicing what they’re learning and get more comfortable speaking. Mix dates, teachers, and levels however you like.
