Join our Book Club! Discover Stupeur et tremblements, the sharp and darkly humorous novel by Belgian author Amélie Nothomb. During this two-hour session, we’ll explore the autobiographical story of Amélie, a young Belgian woman navigating the rigid hierarchy of a large Japanese company in Tokyo.
Through irony and insight, the novel reflects on work culture, identity, and the clash between Western and Japanese social codes.
Coucou teacher Houda will guide the discussion in French, introducing key vocabulary and selected passages while exploring themes such as hierarchy, cultural differences, dignity, and belonging.
