Location

French people love a good debate! Learn the art of argument to prepare for your next dinner party or social gathering. Learn how to express abstract ideas with clarity and precision, and breathe life into complex concepts. Uncover the secrets to forming arguments, from building an idea to impactful execution. Have no fear! We’ll also teach you how to “agree to disagree” and/or politely French exit from an unwanted conversation.

Teachers will select content and materials based on their expertise and preferences while also consulting with students to align with their expectations. Conversation classes are designed to foster a dynamic exchange of ideas. Guided by the teacher, students are encouraged to share their thoughts and experiences. The goal is to create a relaxed and engaging atmosphere—the classes are not intended to feel like a lecture or formal academic lesson.

Here are some topics that might be covered in this module. They can be adjusted based on the interests of both the teacher and the students.

  • les verbes de l’argumentation
  • les connecteurs logiques
  • comment parler de sujets abstraits
  • comment structurer une argumentation
  • comment débattre sur un sujet

This class will be taught exclusively in French.
