Location

In recent years, French politics have featured more drama and plot twists than a season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians: party implosions, fragile alliances, minority governments, and even parliamentary dissolution. Amid this chaos, understanding the broader trends shaping the political landscape can feel overwhelming.

This two-hour workshop, conducted in English, is designed for both newcomers to French politics and seasoned news followers struggling to keep up with rapid shifts. In the first part, we’ll break down the French political system—its institutions, key players, and the political cycle that began with Emmanuel Macron’s 2017 election. In the second part, a Model UN-style role-playing exercise will provide hands-on insight into the workings of French politics, allowing participants to engage with its complexities beyond the headlines.
