Teacher

Caroline was born and raised in Marseille, in the south of France, to Italian parents. She grew up between the two cultures. After completing a degree in journalism, she earned a degree in forensic science and criminology. She worked as a journalist and reporter in Africa and France. She later moved to the U.S., then to Canada, before moving to California, where she worked as a journalist, photographer, and writer. She now lives in Hawaii, where she joined Coucou in 2026. She is passionate about poetry, movies, soccer, and Formula One, as well as extreme sports like skydiving. She is vegan and loves writing songs, poems, and stories.

Location

This class will be taught mainly in English, with French being introduced gradually via simple conversation prompts.

You're Grand Débutant, if...

You can introduce yourself in French, talk about your job and hobbies – even if you sometimes have to rely on the kindness (and patience) of strangers to make yourself understood.

You can conjugate regular verbs in the present tense. You can also conjugate common irregular verbs, such as être, avoir, faire and aller.

You know how to get articles and adjectives to agree with their nouns (for the most part).

You know how to construct a basic sentence in French (subject, verb, object, etc).
