Join Coucou teacher Anna on a journey through the world of French art with the Gustave Caillebotte: Painting Men (Peindre les hommes) exhibition, currently on display at the Getty Center in LA. This major exhibition, presented earlier at the Musée d’Orsay, is the largest of its kind on the West Coast in decades.

Renowned for his depictions of Paris, Gustave Caillebotte (1848 – 1894) was interested in sports as well, and often put men at the center of his paintings – whether they were his brothers, bachelor friends, fellow sportsmen, or the workers and bourgeois of his neighborhood.

A wealthy collector, regatta enthusiast, and brilliant naval architect, Caillebotte was also pivotal in bringing Impressionist and plein-air paintings into both French and American museums.

This exclusive tour offers an exploration of one of the most intriguing figures of the Impressionist movement. Conducted mostly in French, it is open to all art enthusiasts and to levels 5-7 of French proficiency.

Anna will meet you at the entrance, next to the shop, where you will have time to mingle and share your thoughts. You will also receive a printed version of the Paris For Art Lovers guide.
