Djaka

Born in Paris and of Guinean and French descent, Djaka is a classically trained actress who started her career in theater and musical theater. Djaka is also a filmmaker and joined Coucou in 2021. Her passions include cinema, sushi, kindness, wine and sarcasm. Her special skill: Dancefloor Queen. Fun fact: Djaka was recently the face of badass fighter Halima in the video game “Call of Duty.”

Each month, we screen a handpicked French film, from a batch of both new movies & classics with no boundaries in regards to genre, variety, release date or popularity, followed by a lively discussion and engaging questions to dive deeper into the story and its cultural nuances. Enjoy a delightful selection of wines as you mingle with fellow film enthusiasts, share your thoughts, and discover new perspectives.

Whether you’re a francophile or just curious about French culture, our Cine Club event will take place at our newest location, Le Loft, and promises an evening of fun, film, and fantastic conversation.

For our first event in October, we will screen the exhilarating Jean-Luc Godard’s groundbreaking classic, “Breathless” (1960). This iconic film, a cornerstone of the French New Wave, revolutionized cinema and continues to captivate audiences with its bold, dynamic storytelling and unforgettable performances by Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg.
