Joana is a Swiss-Cuban trilingual fluent in Spanish, French, and English, bringing the best of both worlds: Latin warmth and energy paired with French culture that inspire engaging teaching methods. With a background in marketing, tech, and dance, she found her calling in teaching languages, blending fun, creativity, and meaningful connections. Joana swapped Swiss mountains for California sunshine, thriving on travel, contemporary art, and enjoying French-style apéros while making every class a celebration!

Skips Thanksgiving Break (November 30, 2025) & the Holiday Break (December 28, 2025 & January 4, 2026)

This class will be taught mainly in English, with French being introduced gradually via simple conversation prompts.

You're Grand Débutant, if...

You can introduce yourself in French, talk about your job and hobbies – even if you sometimes have to rely on the kindness (and patience) of strangers to make yourself understood.

You can conjugate regular verbs in the present tense. You can also conjugate common irregular verbs, such as être, avoir, faire and aller.

You know how to get articles and adjectives to agree with their nouns (for the most part).

You know how to construct a basic sentence in French (subject, verb, object, etc).
