Zohra was born in Virginia and was raised in an Algerian-American household between Madagascar, South Africa and Swaziland. She moved to New York City in 2013 to pursue her undergraduate studies in theatre, and has since received a Master’s Degree in Global Thought. Zohra is an artist, researcher and expert communicator with an ability to capture the nuance of language. She joined Coucou in March 2024, and is excited about putting all of her passions into practice in the classroom.

You're Grand Débutant, if...

You can introduce yourself in French, talk about your job and hobbies – even if you sometimes have to rely on the kindness (and patience) of strangers to make yourself understood.

You can conjugate regular verbs in the present tense. You can also conjugate common irregular verbs, such as être, avoir, faire and aller.

You know how to get articles and adjectives to agree with their nouns (for the most part).

You know how to construct a basic sentence in French (subject, verb, object, etc).
