General Policies
Group class credit cannot be used toward private lessons.
Class credit is non-transferable and cannot be assigned to another person.
If class credit is applied to a lower-priced class type, the price difference will not be refunded.
No refunds will be issued if an in-person class is temporarily moved online due to exceptional circumstances beyond Coucou’s control (e.g., pandemics, natural disasters).
Coucou reserves the right to refuse service to any individual who is disruptive or poses a safety concern to students or staff.
Promotional discounts cannot be combined or applied to class credits. Each discount applies to one full-priced class registration only. Other restrictions may apply.
Promo codes must be applied at checkout; they cannot be applied retroactively.
Coucou reserves the right to amend its fees and policies at any time.
The Coucou Method, including Course Books, Exercise Books, and Flashcards, is exclusively for use at Coucou French Classes. If you are a teacher or school interested in licensing the Coucou Method, please contact [email protected].
Group Classes
Class transfer or cancellation/refund requests must be made at least 5 days before the class start date. After this deadline, refunds are not available.
A prorated class credit may be issued based on the number of completed lessons at the time of request, minus a $60 administrative fee ($20 for Speaking Practice courses). This credit is valid for 3 months from the original course start date.
If a student continues attending class after requesting withdrawal, their credit will be recalculated accordingly.
No exceptions will be made for incorrect level placement. Students must determine their level before enrolling through a placement test and / or trial class.
If fewer than four students enroll in a 10-person group class, Coucou reserves the right to cancel, postpone, merge groups, or modify the class format. Students may transfer to a different class or receive a refund if the new schedule is unsuitable.
Coucou reserves the right to change the assigned teacher for a class at any time.
Group classes are for students 21 years and older.
Grammar Refreshers
Cancellation or transfer requests must be made at least 5 days before the class start date.
If requested between 5 days and 48 hours before the class, a credit will be issued for future group class registration, valid for 3 months. Credits cannot be combined with other promotions.
Within 48 hours of the class, no credit will be issued, but students will receive course materials and a session recording.
Make-Up Classes
For levels 0 through 5, archived lesson recordings are available in the Student Portal and expire 30 days after the course ends.
Group make-up classes for Levels 6 & 7 (Conversation Classes) are not guaranteed and depend on availability. Make-ups must be scheduled within 14 days of the missed session.
- 4 or 5-week sessions: 1 make-up class per session.
- 8 or 10-week sessions: 2 make-up classes per session.
Make-ups for Speaking Practice courses follow the same policy, with 1 online make-up per session, subject to availability.
Make-up class options depend on availability at the time of absence and cannot be scheduled in advance. Once confirmed, make-ups cannot be rescheduled.
Students in online classes cannot take an in-person make-up class.
Workshops and Events
Refunds are available up to 5 days before the event.
After this deadline, workshop registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable to a later event. However, students may allow another person to take their spot.
Private Lessons
Private lesson packages are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase and are non-refundable in part or in full.
Rescheduling or cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance. If you booked your class through your Student Portal you can cancel/reschedule it directly using the link in the confirmation email from Calendly. If you booked your class via email, you will have to contact [email protected]. Late cancellations will result in the session being deducted from the package.
If a student wishes to reschedule a missed lesson, a $50 rescheduling fee applies.
Booking and rescheduling requests are not accepted within 48 hours of a class. For weekend and Monday classes, requests must be made by Friday at 6 PM ET / 3 PM PT.
If two students take private lessons together, the rate is 1.5 times the standard rate, including the rescheduling fee. Semi-privates for more than two students are also possible. Please contact [email protected] for pricing information and scheduling.
