Terms and Conditions


*** Under no circumstances can group class credit be used towards private lessons.

*** Under no circumstances can a student’s class credit be transferred to another person.

*** If a student wishes to use their credit towards a lower-priced class type, the price difference will not be refunded.

*** No refund will be given if an in-person class needs to be temporarily moved online due to exceptional circumstances outside of Coucou’s control, such as pandemics or natural disasters.

*** We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who is disruptive, or who causes any kind of safety concern to our students or staff.

*** Gift cards are valid for one year from the date of purchase.

*** Promotional discounts cannot be combined or added on top of class credits. Each discount is applicable to one full-priced class registration only. Other restrictions may apply.

*** If a student forgets to use a promo code at checkout, we will not be able to apply the discount retroactively.

*** Coucou reserves the right to amend its fees and policies at any given time.



*** As of January 1, 2024: Class transfer or cancellation/refund requests must be made at least 5 days prior to your class start date. After this date, refunds cannot be given under any circumstances. A prorated credit will be calculated and issued in accordance with the number of lessons that have passed at the time at the time a credit is requested, less a $60 administrative fee. This credit will be valid for three months from your original course start date.

*** No exception will be made for incorrect level placement, since we offer ways for students to accurately determine their level before signing up (placement test and trial class).

*** In the event of low enrollment in a group class (less than 4 people in a 10-person class), we reserve the right to cancel the class, postpone it to a later start date, combine two groups, or shorten the duration of the class as we see fit. In this case, students will have the option to transfer their credit to a different class, or to get a refund if the new dates do not fit their schedule.

*** We reserve the right to change the assigned teacher for a class at any time.

*** Group classes are reserved for students 21 years of age and up.

*** Group make-up classes for Levels 6 & 7 (“Conversation classes”) are not guaranteed and are subject to availability. Please note that make-up classes must be scheduled within 2 weeks (14 days) of your absence. Students in 4 or 5-week sessions are entitled to one (1) make-up per session. Students in 8 or 10-week sessions are entitled to two (2) make-ups per session. 

*** A student registered in an online class may not take a make-up class in an in-person group.

*** An archived recording of any missed lesson can be found in your Student Portal for Levels 0 to 5. Recordings expire thirty days after your class has ended.

*** Workshop registrations can be refunded up to 5 days before the event; after that, workshop registrations are non refundable and cannot be transferred to a later event, but you’re welcome to let another person use your spot.



*** Private lessons packages are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. Under no circumstances can a private lessons package be refunded, in part or in full.

*** For private lessons, the Coucou admin (privatelessons@coucoufrenchclasses.com) must be notified at least 48 hours in advance of any schedule change or class cancellation you wish to make. If you fail to do so, your class will be deducted from your package. If you wish to make up that missed class, you can pay a $50 rescheduling fee.
We are not able to accept booking or rescheduling requests later than 48 hours in advance on weekdays and later than Friday at 6pm ET / 3pm PT for weekend and Monday classes.

*** If two students wish to take private lessons together, the rate applied will be 1.5 times the normal rate. This also applies to the rescheduling fee.
