Level 1 Conversation Labs are where you start putting the foundations from Level 1 Signature Class into practice: present-tense verbs, articles, adjectives, everyday vocabulary, and the near future. Labs don’t introduce new grammar. They give you the space to get comfortable using what you’ve learned out loud.

Every Lab is built around a real-life or cultural theme, from daily routines and hobbies to food, travel, and weekend plans. You’ll warm up with the topic, revisit a relevant grammar point, then put it to work through guided conversation, role-play, games, and other speaking activities.

You’ll work on:

• Introducing yourself and talking about your everyday life
• Asking and answering simple questions
• Talking about family, work, routines, interests, and likes and dislikes
• Describing people, places, and things with more detail
• Talking about where you’re going and making simple plans
• Getting more comfortable forming sentences as you speak
  

Level 1 Conversation Labs are for students who have completed Level 1 Signature Class, or already have an equivalent foundation. If you’re starting French from scratch, begin with Level 1 Signature Class first.
