Level 5 Conversation Labs are where you practice using the advanced structures covered in Level 5 Signature Class: the subjunctive, relative pronouns, time expressions, and more complex sentences. Labs don’t introduce new grammar. They give you the space to make those structures part of how you actually speak.
Every Lab is built around a real-life or cultural theme, from social situations and everyday dilemmas to opinions, culture, and bigger debates. You’ll warm up with the topic, revisit a relevant grammar point, then put it to work through discussion, debate, argumentation, and guided speaking activities.
You’ll work on:
- Using the present and past subjunctive in conversation
- Expressing doubt, emotion, necessity, judgment, and point of view
- Connecting ideas with relative pronouns and longer sentence structures
- Using time expressions with more precision
- Defending an opinion, qualifying what you mean, and developing more complex ideas without losing the flow of the conversation
Best for students who have completed, or are close to completing, Level 5 Signature Class. If you’re just starting Level 5 Signature, keep practicing in Level 4 Conversation Labs for now, then move up once you’ve covered more of the Level 5 grammar.
