Level 5 is for advanced-intermediate students ready for the last major grammar pieces in the Signature Class sequence.

• You can use present, past, future, and conditional forms.
• You can build hypothetical sentences and keep the timeline clear.
• You can explain and defend ideas with some detail.
• You want more precision when expressing time, doubt, emotion, judgment, and complex relationships between ideas.

The grammar gets more advanced here, but the goal stays the same: understand the system well enough to use it.

By the end of Level 5, you’ll have the grammar to express more complex relationships between ideas, time, and point of view.

You’ll be able to:

• Use the main French time expressions with greater precision
• Form and use the present and past subjunctive
• Recognize when French calls for the subjunctive, indicative, or an infinitive
• Use simple and compound relative pronouns to connect ideas
• Build longer, multi-clause sentences and express doubt, emotion, judgment, purpose, and nuance

The goal isn’t to collect exceptions. It’s to understand the logic well enough to make these structures usable.
